Abstract

Electricity has a positive correlation with increasing population. The mere act of forgetting to switch off lights contributes a lot to the wastage of electricity and also decreases the lifespan of the lighting systems. This paper proposes an ATMEGA8A microcontroller based elevator system which has an automatic lighting system that operates on human detection. This system is an innovative step towards efficient use of electricity and occupies a niche in the development process of Smart Cities.
