Abstract

The reform of school soccer is not only related to the enhancement of studentsā€™ physical fitness, but also involves the cultivation of studentsā€™ teamwork, competition and social skills, which has a far-reaching impact on studentsā€™ physical and mental development. In this paper, we discuss the implementation strategies, influencing factors and the promotion of studentsā€™ overall development of school soccer reform under the framework of integration of sports and education. Taking Shanghai, China as an example, it systematically analyzes the theoretical support, practical value, and key role of school soccer in the integration of sports and education, and reveals the challenges encountered in the implementation of school soccer reform, including the lack of professional teachers, insufficient sports facilities, imperfect curriculum, and insufficient acceptance by parents and society. Targeted reform strategy suggestions are put forward, including strengthening the cooperation between education and sports departments, increasing the efforts in building teachers, adjusting the curriculum of school soccer, improving the training facilities and competition mechanism, and strengthening the evaluation and monitoring, aiming to provide a decision-making basis for the reform of school soccer.
