Abstract
The Party and the state have always attached great importance to the education of ideological and political courses in higher education, integrating ideological and political course elements into urban and rural planning courses, enhancing studentsā awareness of ideological and political learning, and establishing a correct outlook on life, values, and the world. In this way, it helps to shape studentsā good spiritual character, stimulate their enthusiasm for professional learning, and continuously enhance their psychological quality, At the same time, it can further enhance studentsā practical design ability, stimulate their spirit of selfdirected learning, and enhance their innovative thinking ability, which can be said to kill two birds with one stone. This has very important guidance and teaching significance for the curriculum education of urban and rural planning majors. This article explores the integration of ideological and political elements in urban and rural planning teaching, and elaborates on the current requirements of the Ministry of Education to carry out comprehensive university education curriculum ideological and political construction. Some feasible solutions and plans are proposed based on the basic requirements of urban and rural planning teaching.
