Abstract

The COVID-19 epidemic has been one of the most serious public health emergency in the world at present. The successful control of the COVID-19 epidemic is inseparable from the prevention and control of the community, which cannot be achieved without the participation of social forces. In the prevention and control of the epidemic outbreaks in community in China, urban and rural community workers, community social organizations, social workers, and volunteers have always stayed on the front line of the community and become guardians of community residents. The COVID-19 prevention and control has achieved good results in China. The participation of community social forces helps to effectively control epidemic outbreaks in community. This article attempts to sort out the main participants and their roles of community epidemic prevention and control, sum up the community’s experience in responding to major public health emergencies, and intends to provide a reference for the communities’ response to major public health emergencies. Finding as followings: Grassroots autonomous organizations play a key role in the prevention and control of epidemic. Enterprises and institutions in community play an important supporting role in community epidemic prevention and control. Community medical and health institutions provide professional protection for community epidemic prevention work, property management companies exert their advantages in resources, manpower and management to fully cooperate with grassroots autonomous organizations epidemic prevention work. The volunteer team is an important force in the prevention and control of community outbreaks.
